Never a good sign...
Nov. 9th, 2005 08:39 amSo, the little guy had a nosebleed or two last night. Not unexpected. He's young, sniffly and probably has the usual childhood disgusting habits. No stress, no harm, no foul.
However, he is now back to school after two days off. He had a major gusher of a nosebleed this morning. This one is bad enough that the nurse and his mom (an EMT who worked a 911 ambulance for a year) agree he needs to go to the Emergency Room.
Right now, his mom is determining transport (she doesn't wish to drive him alone, in case the clotting lets go while in transit and he starts gushing again). I'm mostly just vibrating tensely and waiting to hear which ER I need to head for. Writing this to try and keep my head partially on straight.
I should have known it was going to be an off day when I work up and found out soon after that it was 5 minutes past the time I should have left the house. Either my alarm failed to go off or I slept through turning it off. Most likely the latter. Sleeping through an alarm is something I haven't done in around a year, I think.
I know this is going to turn out fine, but the rush of tension from worry is not listening to the voice of reason. Hopefully I'll hear back again from his mom soon. I'm too tense to even play Kingdom of Loathing...let alone actually work.
