Caffeine It Is!
Jan. 19th, 2007 09:04 amOkay. So for the last few weeks I've been trying to cut down on my caffeine level, in order to see how dependent on it I am. The answer is....well....very. While I didn't have any withdrawl symptoms per se (even on the few days I avoided it entirely), I'm just not as functional without it. I'm logy and inattentive. I sleep the same or more hours, but am constantly tired...and getting caffeine in my system in smaller amounts does nothing to ameliorate that. It masks the tiredness a bit, but doesn't actually take it away. Whereas my usual absurd consumption level of Diet Soda does keep me rolling. The only time I've felt consistently close to alert was during the con, when I was short on sleep but strong on caffeine consumption.
