So, SDSL router arrives today.

I rush home to get things working.

Turns out that the model the DSL provider recommends has a number of sub-models. This particular one that I purchased is not compatible with the other end of the type of DSL line (the dslam is nokia, for those who know telephony/networking). Of course, the only place that could ship the router to me overnight doesn't accept returns. [insert impolite commments about my own IQ]. Hell, what's another $300 between friends, after all? Guess I'll see what I can get for it on eBay to recoup some of the costs.

I'm going to rant quite loudly at the provider for their incomplete information on their site. That one is for their upper management. And in the meantime, I've leaned on them to get me rush scheduled for a re-install ASAP. I expect my cell to ring with a call from them before 5pm. If it doesn't, I get on the phone and don't get off until I have an appointment scheduled.

This is ridiculous and frustrating. I suppose I should have just gone with the re-install option in the first place when I spoke to them on Tuesday night. However, the tech couldn't guarantee I'd see someone before Monday, so I purchased hardware in an attempt to get the net back up prior to that date.

I feel terrible that I'm letting down people who rely on me even more than the fact that I don't have net at home. *sigh*

This just isn't a good ****ing month. Pretty obvious I can't do anything right.
