Postiness

I'm really trying to get into this "posting regularly" habit now. Not that I'll every be as prolific as [livejournal.com profile] shadesong (or as interesting), but at least to reassure the world that I am alive and not entirely asocial.

Antisocial is, of course, always in question. :) Well, not really, but at least now you know I really meant asocial and didn't just typo.

Achievements for the day...

  • worked, after a miserable morning commute
  • picked [livejournal.com profile] neo_blackwolf up from soccer practice and set him to work on his homework
  • discovered that he has an essay due Thursday as well as a flipbook due Friday, over and above the regular day-to-day routine
  • discovered the horrific mess his backpack was in
  • discovered that he had not used his assignment notebook either Monday or today
  • Made him finish regular homework, organize backpack (note, did not organize FOR him, so as to save myself from murder at hands of teacher...just had him go through loose papers one at a time and told him to put it where it belonged)
  • Had long chat about priorities and about not leaving things until the last minute
  • cooked dinner, though it was lame (Hamburger Helper [kept around for emergency lack of cooking motivation] and frozen peppers)
  • watched random snippets of the Celtics preseason game, around harrying child through homework
  • cuddled with kid a bit watching said Celtics game, since we didn't have enough time to do any of the other activities we wanted to after homework nightmare
  • assembled framing of final bookshelf and measured backing...will cut and start staining the backing tomorrow, hopefully

    To do tomorrow...

  • Communicate with [livejournal.com profile] jetshade about sad state of homework. Kid needs to pick up rough draft of essay from school so that he can do final copy tomorrow night. Soccer practice and Boy Scouts have just become optional, pending progress on homework assignments...needs to complete essay. Flipbook is mostly done, so it can probably be left until Thursday.
  • Also discuss his school yearbook...we have to decide about buying it before the 20th...I'm debating it, especially as he is so un-enamoured of the whole idea even after looking through one of mine. As long as his Mom has one for posterity, I may not feel the need for one myself.
  • Not leave a bunch of things at work until the last minute. :)
  • Boy Scout meeting (presuming the essay and all new homework is done)
  • Aforementioned shelf backing
  • Make better dinner (likely frozen salmon, rice and more frozen veggies)
  • July 2010
