Lovely commute home in the slip-slidingly vicious snow. Stopped on the way to grab a shovel for [livejournal.com profile] jetshade, since she didn't have one and wished to minimize her own travel. Grabbed [livejournal.com profile] neo_blackwolf and retreated into the cave dwelling. For the evening, Neo cleaned his room and played videogames, I read and watched basketball.

Saturday was another cave retreat day. We never even bothered to get out of our pajamas, though we changed which ones we were wearing when we each showered. Neo apparently got up well before dawn, so he wound up napping from shortly after I got up until lunchtime. I used that time to read and also nap some myself. After lunch, there was completion of the room cleaning and homework before he was allowed to do anything else. (Generally I let him keep his room mildly messy rather than putting too much pressure on him to be perfect, but he was being punished for some related issues, so he had to do a fairly thorough job.) After the lack of fun there (I spent the time cleaning and doing some reorganizing) and some videogames, we watched The Matrix Reloaded.

Sunday, Neo played videogames while I puttered uselessly around the internet until it was time to go to work (around 10). Going outside, we discovered that my minivan had been severely plowed in (much worse than any of the vehicles I had been able to see from my window... Due to this misjudgement, I wound up getting to work a little late. However, Neo and I managed to get a good workout from the ice-chopping and toting. I worked for about 3.5 hours (Neo napped [said he got up at 5am this time] and worked on Merit Badges fairly unsuccessfully) and then we headed back. Office Depot didn't have posterboard...guess I should have just gone to CVS or something. C'est la vie. Did stop at Best Buy and pick up a game I wanted to get for a while: Virtua Fighter 5 (along with Fallen, by Evanescence, which was on sale). The graphics are severely WOW!!. Gameplay is fairly similar to Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, but a tad more polished. A game Neo and I plan on both enjoying a great deal. We played for about 2 hours that night.

Before playing, though, we got home and played in the snow for an hour. Then I went in and did some kitchen cleaning while Neo stayed out for another half hour. (His mom had called and mentioned the neighborhood kids were out playing, but he didn't want to go spend time with them. Even when I suggested it twice. Hrmmmm... :( At least I convinced him to play in the snow with me.) Once he came in, I did floor cleaning in the public areas, while he emptied the dishwasher, changed his sheets and vaccuumed his own floor. THEN we played VF5. I cooked us some dinner and we played aforementioned couple of hours until 9:00 arrived. Neo trundled off to shower, read a short time and thence to bed. I watched Dresden Files (so-so episode, adaptation of the first novel) and Blood Ties (living up to the promise of the premiere) before taking myself off to bed as well.

This morning was a bit disjointed. Neo moved very slowly after I woke him up and I wound up almost 15 minutes late to work. *sigh* Why couldn't he have woken up at 5am today? :)

Okay, that's enough catchup...I have work to do. Should focus on that for a while.
